A friend of mine played me Steve Reich’s ‘Desert Music’ one evening. It was mesmerizing. We listened to the whole thing. Totally mind-blowing it was. Ensemble Modern – The Desert Music: First Movement This is good too: Kevin Volans, ‘White Man Sleeps’ Kronos Quartet – White Man Sleeps #1
Chords above or in-between the staves? There will be a notation only version and I'll put the chords above for that. I think the chords in-between looks a bit neater. Any thoughts?
I'm working today on an education piece and I want to notate the fingering, pitch, fret location and phrasing. I'm trying to make it look clear, so I'm putting the phrasing on the staff with the pitches...
Got this great idea for a TV show. You do stuff like make a cake, or build a wall, whatever. Something cretinously easy that takes no skill whatsoever. I mean, how hard can it be to make a cake? So, anyway, you make your cake, but then, here's the good bit, we turn you into a master cake-maker. We throw money at you to promote your cake making skills. And you become a big deal on the cake making circuit. I'll take 80% of what you make, cake and all.
Just getting my head around some of the issues relating to the Digital Economy Bill right now. I've got a lot to read. Here's what I'm looking at. Have a look too. I felt strongly enough to write to my MP. First time I've ever done that. I feel the internet should be free and it should serve the people. http://confusedofcalcutta.com/2010/04/02/the-digital-economy-bill-thinking-ab... http://nevali.net/post/501647501/an-open-letter-to-sion-simon-pete-wishart-david http://drunkenwerewolf.livejournal.com/131225.html...
Just been deleting a few old e-mails and I came across this broadcast I did wth Asaf Sirkis's trio, Nov 2007. It's a link to a Real Player clip. Anyone know if RealPlayer is embedable or grabable so I could stick it on YouTube? The line up is Asaf Sirkis: Drums Steve Lodder: Church [K]Organ :) Mike Outram: Guitar rtsp://rm-acl.bbc.co.uk/radio3/londonjazzfestival/ljf_asafsirkistrio_16x9_bb.rm?BBC-UID=54116f9a604a547559ffb65c31bb80be99b5af5940f840f042305dc2b062f7c0&SSO2-UID=
